CapJaxMathFax
I remember trying to learn my math facts……I hated them…….did you read that?…I said I hated them!! Well it turns out —> my son hated them too! But honestly with lots of work…anyone can learn them!…It’s not rocket science!
This time with the TOS Crew I was able to review “CapJaxMathFax.”

I was glad to review this…..I know how important it is to find a good program, curriculum, or whatever!…ya know?
So any-who….my experience with this was….well at first, my first impression at the download was = it is an old system. Once I got is “up and going”….it was very basic. My son didn’t like it. But we are very advanced computer nerds…….well we aren’t but dad is. So that means we are introduced to the “latest and greatest” …but not always!!….And my son plays the PSP3…that alone is cool! This was just too plain for our taste. Yeah…it can do the job…but my son would think it’s torture to use it!….sorry CapJax. But ya know, I was thinking…….This may work great for the ones who don’t like the bells and whistles
Some kids get REALLY distracted by them. So a more back to basic program might be just what you have been searching for.

TOS Review: Judah Bible Curriculum
.
As homeschoolers we are able to have Bible as an important class in our daily classroom schedule. And if you have been homeschooling for any length of time …you know there are a lot of different curricula “out there” to choose from.
This one is called Judah Bible Curriculum. Here is an except from their site:
What is the Judah Bible Curriculum:
|
This is a “Principle Approach” based course. Here is their definition:Principle Approach refers to a philosophy of education whose content and methods are designed to build character in teacher and student capable of sustaining liberty.
The Principle Approach is a resurgence of the Biblical philosophy of education prevalent in the founding period of America, when the character of the American colonists was one of dependence on God, not the State. This enabled and impelled them to overthrow their opposition under the tyranny of England and become a new nation, free yet not in anarchy. This education was done almost entirely in the home and the church and yielded a populace that was 96% literate; today we are 46% literate.

Okay…now my thoughts on the program….it is a very good program. Especially for someone who wants to learn how to walk and live a Christian life…..this is a great program to teach you the Bible….especially if you don’t know it….There is A LOT of teacher prep involved to teach your children…Kinda like a teacher – teaching program — Go to their website and look around and see what you think. This may be just what you are looking for!! I was hoping for something a little more simplified. But like I said, for others…this could be awesome!!! Honestly – I know a friend that this would work prefect for for! She wasn’t raised in a religious family, so she really doesn’t know much of the Bible…so how can she teach it to her children?….this is perfect for her!!

This month they are offering 25% all items! ….. You really should hop over and check them out! First! see what books ya need, need hop over and go shopping my homeschool friends…..I am here to enable! ~smile~

Critical Thinking…
Critical Thinking is another company that I really like! And when we at the Crew were asked if we would like to review for them I was like….heck yeah!…loving it!!!
We were given a choice of which item we would like to review out a list. I chose → Math balance Teaches Algebra.
The cost for this book is $14.99 and it says it for grades 4th -12th. (64 pages)
One of the main reason I like this company so much is due to the past books I have used. I enjoy the critical thinking, computation and problem solving. When I give these type of books to my son – I tell him they are more like puzzles. It takes the “fear factor” away!
The website describes the book as: “Understanding algebraic equations and solving algebra word problems has never been easier or more fun! This visual approach uses balance scales to teach algebra. The balance scales provide an intuitive, visual, and entertaining way to master fundamental algebraic concepts. The puzzle-like problems ensure students are cognitively involved while they hone their techniques of simplifying, substituting, and writing proofs to solve simultaneous equations.”
We enjoyed the book. When my son takes on the mindset of this stuff is puzzles….he sees it as fun…and forgot he was doing Algebra for a moment! ~smile~
Go to Critical Thinking website….grab a cup of coffee first! They have so much to look into buying!!!! Click can HERE!
And as always my wonderful friends, go see what my Mates thought about what they reviewed…..remember – we all asked for what we wanted to review! Just click HERE.

If you have been reading my review post – then you already know -> I LOVE Classical Academic Press. (I have reviewed for them in the pasted.) I was sent the God’s Great Covenant, New Testament One – teacher edition and student edition.

~ Testament One Bundle $56.95 (comes w/audio book download)
Samples
GGC, New Testament One (PDF)
GGC, New Testament One, Teacher’s Edition (PDF)
Features:
- 36 weekly chapters, divided into 4 themed units
- Each chapter contains:
- A memory page that includes a weekly memory verse, key facts chart, fulfillment of prophecy section
- A thought-provoking “Think About It” question that encourages children to consider how to relate to God in their own lives
- A worksheet and quiz
- Unit reviews that contain a memory verse worksheet, devotional guide, and a fun short story of life in Simon’s world
The website says “He is the Son of Man, God’s Servant, the Messiah, and the Son of God. Each of the four units in this text emphasizes one of these names of Jesus. God’s Great Covenant, New Testament 1 teaches the Gospels to students in fourth grade and up, using stories, worksheets, memory verses, devotional guides, quizzes, and a little boy named Simon. In the introductions to the text, students will also learn about the historical, cultural, and geographical setting of the New Testament. This book is a most comprehensive and heartfelt study of the Gospels, and many parents and teachers will find themselves learning along with their students.”
I thought this was a wonderful program! …… Yes it is young for my son, but we both think it is very enjoyable. The website states it is for 4th and up but you could use it for young if you wanted. And it can be used in 5th and 6th grade.
Go to their website and and look around…and yes pick it up! And ya know…I have heard that a few other bloggers plan to buy the next books.
Also y’all please go see what the other Mates thought about the curriculum…click HERE!

Write with World..
.
Hello everyone!!
This review is on Write with World. This is a new two year, middle school writing curriculum.. We folks at the Crew were sent Year 1 to check out/review ~smile~
The website states that World exposes children to:
- reading and critical thinking that develop discernment
- contemporary subjects and professional guidance to pique interest
- flexible exercises to build confidence and skill for using today’s new media
- a thoughtful and meaningful Christian worldview

This curriculum comes with a teacher book student book, online content and a teacher forum. The books are standard stuff in in ant curriculum, but the online extras and the teacher forum are very nice extras!!…don’t you think?? ~smile~
I thought the curriculum was nice. The only big problem I had is I don’t have a subscription to the World magazine which they suggest to use often. You can you something else but I like to have what is suggested and I don’t want another magazine subscription…..know what I mean? BUT!! you may have the magazine or even want it
Now don’t forget y’all, go HERE and check out what the other Crew Mates had to review. REMEMBER – We didn’t receive the same item!!

TruthQuest History
.
TruthQuest History
We at the Crew were able to pick what we wanted to review from this company. Thank You TruthQuest History!! It’s always so nice to pick what can work with your child or children for the review.
I was able to review “Ancient Greece”. This can be used for grades 5-12. Most homeschoolers have used or have at- least seen or heard of TruthQuest History, but for those of you who do NOT know about it I will explain….
TruthQuest History is a series of eleven volumes that serve as guides for a “real books” approach to history. Each guide is divided into chronologically-organized topical sections. Michelle Miller, the author- introduces each of these topics with background information written in a lively, informal, and conversational style.
You read a bit of background information then move to your “spine” resource. You are given many different options you can use for your “spine” – example:
~ This Country of Ours, by H.E. Marshall
~ Greenleaf’s Famous Men of Greece, by Shearers
~ Island Story, by H.E. Marshall
~ Story of the World—Volume 1, by Susan Wise Bauer
Code: GRE
Price: $24.95
PDF Price: $19.95
The website suggests…
“When beginning a topic, first read the TruthQuest Historycommentary, and then have the students read one or two living books on the topic. Ideally, the parent reads aloud the commentary so he/she is aware of the deep lessons the student is learning. Many older students, though, read the commentary themselves. As for the living books the student will read to supplement the commentary, they are a great joy! We’ve gone to great effort to highlight the best books available. The student will then either write about or discuss the ThinkWrite™ assignments as instructed in the guide, and the parent can see if the student has hit upon the key truths by checking the sample answers in the guide’s appendix. Read and talk! Read, talk, and occasionally write! Add in, as desired, notebooking, timelines, lapbooks, maps, cooking, dress-up plays, models, etc Fun! Natural fun!!”
Don’t they make it sound like fun?? Well it really can be. I enjoy History, so to me this fun. I really like this kind of curriculum. Go to their website look around, check out the different volumes they have to offer. Just click HERE.
Now don’t forget y’all, go HERE and check out what the other Crew Mates had to review. REMEMBER – We didn’t receive the same item!!
